Designed specifically for company drivers and owner/operators, TruckMiles joins the ProMiles Software Development Corporation (PSDC) software line as an alternative to the popular ProMiles Mileage & Routing Guide.
According to Stroncheck, "Over the past several years we received countless requests for an even more affordable program". Traditionally, software has been developed for fleet operations. However, an increase in the number of company drivers and owner/operators who carry laptop computers has created a large and important market. With the majority of requests coming from drivers with limited
computer experience, TruckMiles was designed to use a "wizard" to walk users through the routing process.
TruckMiles has existed for several years as an Internet based application, built on the same powerful database engine as ProMiles Mileage & Routing Guide and is the only truck routing product designed specifically for the driver/owner/operator. We decided to offer TruckMiles on CD due a large number of requests from customers who do not have full-time access to the Internet",

In doing so, features such as the ability to choose routing methods and the Profit Margin Estimator, that are so well liked in the Internet application are included and extra features such as the ability to save and reload trips and an Expense Calendar have been added. The industry has developed a need for this software over the past few years. The full version of ProMiles Mileage & Routing Guide at an affordable $895 was still not a realistic option for company drivers and owner/operators, especially those just starting out. TruckMiles allows drivers previously excluded from the market, access to software designed specifically for the trucking industry.
